Nigel Maxted used to be born in Cornwall, UK, and grew up in Kent. He studied organic sciences at Wolverhampton Polytechnic. His Grasp of Philosophy analysis assistantship on the College of Southampton concerned about breeding the tropical legume wingbean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus) the use of crop wild family.
